When we look many years down the road at the Bruce Lee Foundation, what we envision is a thriving legacy and a global inspiration. We have many goals that make up our vision at the Bruce Lee Foundation, but they all spring from one source, one visionary: Bruce Lee.
We have a vision that, in the future, the martial arts world will understand Jeet Kune Do as taught, practiced and cultivated by Bruce Lee. To that aim, we wish to create a living legacy for instructors that teach the art of Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do® so that Bruce Lee’s original intent and practice will not be distorted or misinterpreted and thereby, will not fade away. We will do this through instructor programs, seminars, our website, books, videos, articles, newsletters, and special events.
We have a vision to educate and inspire young people using Bruce Lee’s life example and philosophies. We will do this through a thriving scholarship program and educational outreach programs that inspire and motivate as well as through our website, books, articles, newsletters and videos. Not only are we helping individuals, who show a dedication to educating and expressing themselves and who may need assistance in their process to reach their goals of higher education, but we are helping early on to build that dedication to education and self-expression through our educational programs.
We have a vision to be a voice in the campaign to erase prejudice globally. Bruce Lee believed that “under the sky, under the heavens, there is but one family.” We wish to promote this world view. Bruce Lee’s life is an amazing example of taking on adversity with undaunted optimism, perseverance and presence of mind. We will carry on his message through educational programs, events, our website, books, newsletters, articles, and videos.
Lastly, we have a vision for a home – a Bruce Lee Museum. We wish to build a lasting gathering place for the inspiration and dynamism that has touched the lives of so many people the world over. Here people will come together to learn more about the legacy of Bruce Lee. It will be an interactive space where the world of Bruce Lee (what he thought, what he read, what he believed, what he taught) will culminate in a series of exhibits, a teaching facility, a lecture hall, a library, and an experience that will encompass all the goals of the BLF and preserve and perpetuate our message for generations to come.
