What Makes Us Unique

The Bruce Lee Foundation, founded in 2002, is the only officially sanctioned charitable organization dedicated to Bruce Lee in the world and is the only public charity that is supported by Shannon Lee and Linda Lee Cadwell together with a number of Bruce Lee’s original students and friends. The Bruce Lee Foundation presents the whole legacy of Bruce Lee to the world, portraying him not only as the martial artist and action star that he was but as the philosopher, friend, teacher, humanitarian, and family man as well.

The Bruce Lee Foundation started as a grass roots movement holding small regional seminars, making appearances at martial arts events and awarding a small scholarship. Now, after much work, the Foundation is beginning to pursue it larger goals. In 2007, the BLF was supported by the UFC with a special edition tee shirt that raised both awareness and funds for our organization. Again in 2007, the BLF also had its first international event in Japan. 2008 saw the BLF unveiling its initial plans for BLAM, the Bruce Lee Action Museum, at our 35th Anniversary event in Seattle, Washington sponsored by our good friends at UFC once again as well as an appearance in London at SENI, the martial arts combat show.

For the immediate future, the BLF is continuing to branch out with events in other countries as well as contemplating official branches of the organization in Japan and Hong Kong, continuing work on BLAM, and discussing working with the Hong Kong government to turn the family’s former home there into an official museum. And that’s not all!
The BLF applies the legacy of Bruce Lee to the present day global community, showing how relevant Bruce Lee, his teachings, his thoughts, and his example still are today. The Bruce Lee Foundation not only educates people about Bruce Lee but works to educate people generally through its programs, scholarships and the Bruce Lee Museum Project. The BLF looks to inspire children and adults alike toward honest personal expression believing that in order to impact the world, one must cultivate the self to the best of one’s ability.

We hope you will join us in our mission to keep Bruce Lee an active part of the human consciousness for generations to come!

In the spirit of jeet kune do, walk on!
